The General Office of Statistics has released its June update in which GDP was found to have hit 4.41 percent in the second quarter of 2022. That’s up from 3.32 percent in the first quarter. This gives Viet Nam a GDP growth rate for the first half of the year of 3.72 percent. This slight increase is good news, however, it still leaves Viet Nam a long way from the 6.5 percent it had set at the beginning of the year. To meet this target it would need upwards of 9 percent growth for the last half of the year.
